Hello everyone, Edward Schwartz here. I am pretty excited about this getting site up and operating because it will give me a greater opportunity to connect with people that are looking for a bit of assistance in their businesses.

Me? Well, I live in Philly, that’s Philadelphia, USA, with my wife, Amanda. I spent 20 years working in banking, starting off as junior manager there after graduating from College with a Business Degree Majoring in Finance. So I did all the usual banking jobs:

  • Teller
  • Loans
  • Mortgages
  • Investment
  • Account Manager
  • Branch Manager
  • Bonds
  • Analyst
  • Settlements

After doing all this for all those years, I finally called it a day because I felt that there was a growing facet of impersonal dealings happening in banking institutions. Nobody seemed to care about the little guy, the moms and the dads who were looking for just pennies to get something started.

As banking evolved to the giant corporations they are now; it was interesting to be part of that growth and get to see how everything was done behind the scenes. With that forming a big part of my experience I found it very satisfying to provide insightful advice to friends and family about investing for the future. That financial experience had me thinking that with some astute money management, I could start a small private investment fund to help people create that nest egg as well as giving small businesses a helping hand in their early stages.

With the support and assistance of my wife, it all came to fruition, and we called it Technotradin, and it’s up and running. Working from home has its hidden benefits, especially if you like pottering around in the garden, like Amanda and I do.

Vegetables

Edward's gardening resultsWe started a small vegetable plot about 12 years ago and over a few seasons of successful homestyle farming; we extended the patch to cover 80% of the backyard. What do we grow? The question should be what don’t we grow?

  • Peas
  • Corn (although that got a bit messy)
  • Tomatoes
  • Peppers
  • Potatoes
  • Onions, both spring and bulb
  • Green Beans
  • Zucchini
  • Lettuce (3 types, thank you very much J)
  • Pumpkin (Roll on Halloween!)

We extended our growing into a couple of fruits like strawberries and passionfruit. The vegetables have proved to be a great favorite of our parents and other members of the family. Amanda and I don’t have any kids of our own, but with brothers and sisters on both sides, we have a chuck wagon full of nephews and nieces.
